Tips & Tricks: From Sample Preparation to Successful Measurements
When: 10 February 2021, 4 - 5 pm, Central European Time
Surface properties of powders, fibers and even plates can be determined by Inverse Gas Chromatography (IGC) based on dynamic adsorption of around 15 different probe molecules. However, sample preparation can be sometimes tricky and it is often not clear, which conditions (protocol) lead to good results.
What you will learn In this webinar we guide you step-by-step through the sample preparation, choosing and filling the column properly and running first experiments with alkanes and polar probes.
Based on 20 years of practical experience and over 800 IGC customer projects, Eric Brendle, CEO of Adscientis, will provide practical tips how to find appropriate condition of sample weight, flow rate and temperature. Other points include to minimize the pressure drop with nano-scale material, how to use fibrous material or even how to use a shorter column for polar probes and a longer one for non-polar probes – and combine the data.
Who should attend This webinar is for physical chemists, researchers and chemists who are practically dealing with the characterization of powders, fibers and even plates. It is valuable for everyone performing IGC measurements independent of the instrumental platform. The presentation will be around 30 min followed be an Q&A session.
Speakers: Eric Brendle, CEO and founder Adscientis Ralf Dümpelmann, CEO and founder Inolytix
